When Max Alexander’s best friend moves overseas, the last thing he expects is to open his apartment door to Lucas Campbell—the boy who made his teenage years a living hell. Now, adults and unexpected roommates, Max and Lucas, are trapped in close quarters by a signed lease and a history neither of them has healed from.

Max is an art student who survives on rigid routines, sensory control, and silence. Lucas is a writer carrying family obligations, guilt, and a past he’s never been able to explain. As the days pass, old wounds resurface alongside unexpected tenderness, and both are forced to face who they were and who they've become.

Healing isn’t loud, forgiveness isn’t clean, and love ... doesn’t always arrive the way you expect it to.

Mateo and Fallon Alexander are college awakenings. One was set that he wasn't coded for relationships, and the other had all but given up on them. They met in their late twenties through a misunderstanding and turned out to be the missing piece the other didn't know they'd been looking for.

Skip forward to their late thirties; married, successful, proud adopted parents of a neurodivergent teen, and trying to deal with the impact of their son's shattered friendship turned bullying situation. A vacation makes the most sense, but that beach trip ends up costing more than they anticipated. Mateo has to return early for a work emergency, and it turns out to be the last time he sees his family for six months.

Well ... at least in that context.
